Piedmont Middle School Modular Gymnasium

JL Modular, in collaboration with McKim Design, successfully delivered a new gymnasium on one of the district’s historic campuses, blending modern functionality with the school’s traditional setting. Spanning 7,642 square feet, this state-of-the-art gym houses a central basketball court with retractable hoops, side courts for additional play, and a volleyball court, ensuring that the school’s athletic programs have a top-tier facility.

This gymnasium goes beyond being just a sports venue; it’s a multifunctional space designed to support the school’s broader needs. The bleachers provide ample seating for assemblies and events, while the inclusion of boys, girls, and an all-gender restroom ensures accessibility for all students. A large storage room with ladder access to the roof offers practical solutions for equipment storage and maintenance.

The gym’s design also includes provisions for food service and other non-athletic functions, making it a hub for both daily activities and special events. This project not only modernizes the campus but also strengthens the community by providing a versatile space for both students and faculty to gather, learn, and grow together.
