Summit Shasta High School

Summit Shasta High School, located in Daly City, CA, represents a significant achievement in modular construction and educational facility design. Developed by JL Construction (JLC) in partnership with JL Modular (JLM) and Artik Art & Architecture, this 26,000-square-foot campus was built to serve 400 students in a public charter setting. The project, situated on 2.5 acres just south of San Francisco, features five 1-story modular buildings. These buildings include 10 standard classrooms, two specialized STEM classrooms, and a dedicated space for special education. Additionally, the campus is equipped with a large multipurpose building that houses a full-size basketball court, bleachers, and space for all-school gatherings, fostering a sense of community and school spirit.

JL Construction’s role extended beyond just providing buildings. The company managed all aspects of project development, including utilities, parking, and the creation of outdoor learning spaces and landscaping. This comprehensive approach ensured that Summit Shasta High School was ready to meet the needs of its students from day one. The use of JL Modular’s pre-checked designs facilitated a faster construction process, allowing the school to open its doors in August 2018, just in time for the new academic year.

Summit Shasta High School stands as a testament to the benefits of modular construction in educational settings. The project highlights how strategic design and efficient building practices can create a vibrant and functional learning environment that supports both academic excellence and community engagement. By prioritizing modern design and sustainable construction methods, JL Construction has provided a long-lasting educational facility that will serve Daly City’s students for years to come.
